Jacksonville Vineyards

Welcome to the beautiful Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon!

In Southern Oregon, we are blessed with as many new and unique wineries as the people who own and operate them. Many of these owner/operators began their vineyards and wineries after full careers and far-flung lives completely unique from growing grapes or making wines.

One example: Pamela and Dave Palmer.  After 20+ years traveling across America and abroad they discovered the joys of wine and founded Jacksonville Vineyards in the Applegate Valley. Over the last 15 years, the two have created beautiful gardens, planted vineyards and built their winery while renovating an 1897 homestead.  Like the great estates of Southern France and the simple village wineries of Tuscany, beauty and style are most often created from the hands of the owners.

The vineyards surrounding the original 1897 farmhouse and the 200 barrel winery produce the Claret (Bordeaux) and Tuscan style award winning wines for which we are becoming so well known.  Production is just 1,500 to 2,000 cases. “We want to be able to keep our size appropriate to our lifestyle and never to staff ourselves out of our favorite jobs – gardening, harvesting beautiful clusters, cellar tasks..."and meeting new visitors!” Pamela states clearly, while eyeing Dave, as if they have settled this between themselves with a definitive clarity some time ago.

Jacksonville Vineyards winery is unique in Southern Oregon for its exclusive use of French oak barrels, years of barrel aging, and estate production of its wines. We can accomplish all this because we live next to our vineyards, and right next door to our winery!” declares Dave.
